Doping

Doping is one of the most serious problems in sports nowadays. Doping was not so spread the last several centuries but nowadays it is one of the first problems widely discussed in mass media and society.

Sport is not only a good way of entertainment and spending free time. It is also a business in which people may earn a lot of money thanks to their records and achievements. Sportsmen get a lot of money if they take the first prise and become the winners. It also makes them popular and gives a lot of possibilities in future. So, people try to win using all possible methods.

Sometimes a person is not persistent enough or he/she is not strong enough to fight and gain achievements. So he/she uses some forbidden drugs that give more energy and power for competitions.

Almost everybody coincide in the fact that doping is a disadvantage and a cheating. All sportsmen that compete must have the same conditions. After all competitions are held to let people compare their powers and abilities in this or that sport and find the winner. And if a person uses some kind of support it is an additional advantage that may help him/her to win.

So, to avoid such cheating, a lot of medical examinations are held before almost every serious and prestigious competition. The aim of doctors who examine the participants of competitions is to examine the general state of health of sportsmen and find the problems that may appear while practicing sport. Another and the main aim is to find out whether the sportsman used some drugs to get such a good form. They must find out the presence of chemical substances in the blood of sportsmen. And if something is discovered and it is proved that a person used drugs, he/she is declassified and can't take part in competitions. Sometimes more serious punishment is taken.

But still all these punishments don't threaten people and they continue taking drugs. But it may also be very dangerous for their health. Some pills contain very dangerous chemical ingredients that may cause even death. And irresponsible and uncontrolled usage of these medicines may have serious negative consequences.
